Edinburgh ANZAC and Gallipoli Dawn Service

The Anzac Day dawn Service will take place at Comely Bank Cemetery Edinburgh at 0500 on Saturday the 25th April 2026. A short open-air service will be held during which wreaths will be laid by the National President of Royal British Legion Scotland and other parties.

Glasgow ANZAC and Gallipoli Dawn Service

The Commonwealth war graves commission’s Anzac Day dawn Service will take place at Western Necropolis Glasgow at 0500 on Saturday the 25th April 2026. A short open-air service will be held during which wreaths will be laid by Royal British Legion Scotland and other parties.

ANZAC and Gallipoli Day Service

Annual service of Remembrance for ANZAC Day, held at the Scottish National War Memorial, Edinburgh Castle. There will be a limited number of tickets for the general public which will be available on a first come first served basis from the Castle Esplanade.

The Scottish American Memorial Day

We will mark Scottish American Memorial Day with a memorial service lead by Reverend Dr Karen K Campbell BD (Hons) MTh DMin, National Chaplain Royal British Legion Scotland on Monday 25th May at 1:00pm from The Call Memorial, Princes Street Gardens. “The Call” memorial inside Princess Street Gardens, Edinburgh, was erected in 1927 and funded by Americans of Scottish descent who wanted to recognise the bravery and sacrifice of Scottish Soldiers during World War One.

Garden of Remembrance Glasgow

The Dedication of the Glasgow Garden of Remembrance will commence at 11.00am on Friday 23rd October 2026. During the Service Wreaths will be laid by The Lord Provost of the City of Glasgow, representatives from the Armed Forces, Service Charities and Veterans Associations and Organisations. 

Garden of Remembrance Edinburgh

The Dedication Service for the opening of the Edinburgh Garden of Remembrance will take place at 11.00am on Saturday 24th October 2026.

During the Service Wreaths will be laid by the Lord Provost, representatives from the Scottish Government, the Armed Forces, service charities and Veterans Associations and Organisations.

Inverness Garden of Remembrance

The Dedication Service for the opening of the Inverness Garden of Remembrance will take place at 3.00pm on Friday 30th of October 2026 at Cavell Gardens, Great Glen Way, IV2 4SY what3words location ///recent.bleak.dimes

Scotland’s Festival of Remembrance

Join us at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh as we deliver Scotland’s first National Festival of Remembrance. The Festival will feature personal testimonies, storytelling and wonderful musical performances to express the nation’s gratitude to serving personnel, veterans and their families.

The production also marks the sacrifices of those who have defended our freedoms and will highlight why it is important to always remember the vital contribution of the Armed Forces community.

Festival of Remembrance at The Royal Albert Hall & Cenotaph March Past Remembrance Sunday

The Festival of Remembrance at The Royal Albert Hall, and the march past the Cenotaph are organised and managed by The Royal British Legion.

Royal British Legion Scotland (Legion Scotland) receive an annual allocation of tickets for both these events for our members in Scotland.

When we receive confirmation of our allocation, the calling notice goes to all Areas so they can confirm to us the details of any members nominated or interested in attending so they may be entered into the ballot. 

Those drawn from the ballot receive confirmation in advance, the tickets are complimentary but individuals must arrange and pay for their own travel. 

If you are interested in being considered for the ballot in 2026, please make yourself known to your Branch Secretary, Area Secretary or Head Office, you can find the contact information for the Area Secretary and Head Office here, forms are below for the ballot.

Current information on the Festival is available directly through the Royal British Legion website https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/remembrance/remembrance-events/festival-of-remembrance Royal British Legion members (those with membership for England, Wales & Northern Ireland) may purchase tickets directly through their online portal and will be required to confirm their membership number online.

Remembrance Sunday – National Event 2026

All are welcome to join us as we commemorate Remembrance Sunday this year at the Stone of Remembrance at Edinburgh City Chambers. Wreaths will be laid by the Lord Provost, representatives from the Scottish Government, UK Government and the wider Armed Forces and Veterans community to remember our fallen at 1100 hours on Sunday 8th November 2026.

Armistice Day Service

Legion Scotland will deliver a short service of Remembrance to commemorate Armistice Day at the Scott Monument in Princes Street Gardens East 

The Short Service will commence at 10.52am, The One O’clock Gun at Edinburgh Castle will fire a single round at 11.00am to mark the start of a National 2 Minute silence and again at 11.02am to signal the end of the silence, wreaths will then be laid by Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh and representatives from service Charities.

All are welcome to join us prior to 10.50am ready for the service commencing.

Weather conditions will be monitored on the day, if the site is deemed unsafe for the service to continue (as was the decision in 2022) participants will be moved to New Haig House, Logie Green Road, EH7 4HQ to carry out the service.

Field Marshal Earl Haig Dedication SNWM

Our annual service to honour and commemorate the life of Field Marshal Earl Haig KT GCB OM GCVO KCIE, founder of the Royal British Legion Scotland.

This will be the forth service on the anniversary of his death to honour Field Marshal Earl Haig by holding a small private service at the Scottish National War Memorial with wreaths being laid on behalf of Legion Scotland, Poppyscotland, Officers Association Scotland and the Lady Haig Poppy Factory.

This will compliment the Drumhead Service held at our Annual Conference acknowledging the work of Field Marshal Earl Haig.

Annual Conference 2026

The Royal British Legion Scotland Annual Conference 2026 will be held on Saturday 6th of June and Sunday 7th of June 2026 at The Ravenwood Country Club in Banchory.

Representatives from Branches and Areas will be in attendance along with our Trustees, guests and presenters. Draft Conference packs will be issued to all attendees and Branch representative week ending the 10th of April 2026 with final packs issued week ending 8th of May.

The programme this year will include updated from the National President and National Chair.

Further updates will be provided nearer the time.

Armed Forces Day Flag Raising 2026

City of Edinburgh marks the start of Armed Forces Week with the raising of the Armed Forces Day Flag at City Chambers with representatives of Legion Scotland and our Armed Forces.

Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day will be celebrated with a parade along George St in Edinburgh, to St Andrews Square where an address and programme of entertainment will take place along with refreshments available to all veterans taking part.
